About Chris
I’m Chris Schwartz, a guitarist and educator with over 15 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music degree from Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts.
Music has been the center of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve spent years studying, performing, and most importantly, teaching, because I believe learning an instrument can be one of the most transformative experiences a person can have.
I currently serve as the Assistant Director and guitar instructor at the Westerhoff School of Music & Art in Metuchen, NJ, while also maintaining a thriving private in-home lesson practice across Hunterdon, Somerset, and Middlesex counties.
My approach blends structure, patience, and creativity. I want every student—from a child picking up the guitar for the first time to an adult returning after years away—to experience the sense of progress and accomplishment that comes from making real music. Lessons are patient, goal-oriented, and built around each student’s interests and strengths, so learning feels natural and motivating.
Each year, students have the opportunity to perform in an annual recital, celebrating their growth and sharing music with family and friends.
